The 2018 Great Decisions Program – Register by November 10, 2017

This citizen’s world affairs education program from the non-partisan, non-profit Foreign Policy Association will be offered by AAUW Longmont on eight Mondays from 12:30 – 2:30 pm, starting in mid-January 2018. The group is nonpartisan and welcomes non-members.

Informed by the Association’s briefing book, the group studies the history of eight foreign policy issues, discovers the U.S.’s various policy options and discussions the outcomes of each choice.  The group is nonpartisan and welcomes non-members.

This year’s topics will include:

  • The waning of Pax Americana?
  • Russia’s foreign policy
  • China and America: the new geopolitical equation
  • Media and foreign policy
  • Turkey: a partner in crisis
  • U.S. global engagement and the military
  • South Africa’s fragile democracy
  • Global health: progress and challenges
