The branch’s Hiking Group takes advantage of the great outdoor opportunities available throughout the Boulder County area and in Rock Mountain National Park. This year-old interest group plans to hike once-a-month, generally on the second Thursday, hitting the road for their selected trailhead between 7:00 and 8:00 AM. The exact dates are determined by the availability of the members and of course, the weather.
The hikes selected by this group are moderate in difficulty and cover 3-5 miles. That sounds more rigorous than it probably seems once on the trail as there is ample opportunity for some great conversation and plenty of photos along the route. The wildflowers have been exquisite, the waterfalls breath taking and the fall colors dramatic.
